Meaning > Location

This is a peak at a family session with a sweet friend and fellow family photographer, Leah O’Connell of Firefly Photography. She is intentional, kind and encouraging and I was honored to be able to do this session for her.

When we booked this session, Leah had JUST found out she was pregnant with sweet baby #3. We had already been talking about doing this session but it took on a lot more meaning to her as it was a chance to capture the season it’s been with just 2 kids. A chance to slow down and soak up these memories as a family of 4.

She picked picked Ivy Creek Nature Reserve as their location, not because of the beautiful backdrop, though that is a bonus, but because it is truly a place her and her family spend time. Picking a location where you and your family make memories in the everyday is far more valuable than any beautiful back drop.

These are images she will look on and not only remember the day we took that picture on that path, but all the times she has walked it before. From walking it while holding a baby on her hip, to holding the chubby hand of her toddler, to watching her kids run far ahead of her. It’s MORE than just a location.
